Anxiety

Anxiety

Anxiety is the most common mental disorder. It will affect nearly 30% of adults at some point in their life, and it continues to impact more and more people. Over 19% were impacted just within this past year.

It can be a normal and healthy emotion in various situations (such as taking a test or giving a speech). It becomes a disorder when typical feelings of nervousness or anxiousness turn into excessive fear or anxiety. A sign it's become a disorder is when someone's reactions are out of proportion to the circumstances.

Left untreated, anxiety disorders can interfere with job performance, schoolwork, and relationships.

Frequently, anxiety can be a symptom, so our goal is to uncover the root cause. From there, we will work together to build skills to treat the underlying cause.
